Statement of Beliefs

The statement of faith of Jesus of Bethlehem Ministries and its subsidiary, ThePlainBibleTruth.com shall be as follows:

1) We believe in one God, Creator of all things, infinitely perfect and eternally existing in three persons, the Father, the Son (Jesus Christ) and the Holy Spirit (the Trinity of God). (Scripture reference: 1 Corinthians 8:6)

2) We believe in the Holy Scriptures, both the Old and New Testaments, to be the inspired Word of God without error, through which the complete revelation of His will for the salvation of men is set forth. (Scripture reference: 2 Timothy 3:16)

3) We believe Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son of God, born of a virgin, who lived a sin-free life as He walked among men. We believe He demonstrated the authority and power of God in works and in speech; that He died on the Cross, rose from the dead on the third day and is now seated at the right hand of the Father having accomplished all that is necessary for man’s salvation. 4) We believe that the ministry of the Holy Spirit is to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ; and during this current age to convict men, rejuvenate the sinner, indwell, guide, instruct and empower the believer for godly living and service. (Scripture reference: John 16:7-15)

5) We believe that man was created in the image and likeness of God, but fell into sin and has fallen short of the glory of God and the accountability declared in His Word. Only through the acceptance of Christ and the receiving of the Holy Spirit can ones spiritual life be restored and eternal salvation obtained. (Scripture reference: Genesis 1:26 / Genesis 3 / John 14:6)

6) We believe that the shed blood of Jesus Christ and His resurrection provide the only ground for restoration and eternal salvation for all who believe in Him and are born of the Holy Spirit; thus we become children of God. (Scripture reference: Hebrews 9:11-15 / John 3:8)

7) We believe that it is essential for man to repent of his sins and by faith receive the finished work of Christ by confessing Him as Lord and Savior by the words of his mouth and also by believing in his heart that Christ’s true act of love – His death and resurrection – redeems him from the penalty of sin, resulting in a personal rejuvenation through the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. 8) We believe that the true Church of Christ is composed of true believers, regardless of denomination, who through the saving faith and baptism into Jesus Christ have been rejuvenated by the Holy Spirit and are united together in the body of Christ of which He is the head.  (Scripture reference: John 17:20-21)

9) We believe that the Holy Sabbath of God – the seventh day of the week, not the first – is still the day God instructs His believers to rest from their work and to rest in Him for renewing and edification of the mind. We believe this because nowhere in scripture does God, Jesus Christ, or the apostles ever elude to this change. It was the western Roman Church in the early centuries, influenced through their hatred for the Jews and separated themselves from them by instituting what they determined was a new day to worship Christ. Christians believe in the Ten Commandments, not the Nine Commandments. The fourth Commandment is the observance of God’s Holy Sabbath, the day God blessed and hallowed! 10) We believe we are commissioned by the Great Commission of Christ that we go into all the world and preach the Good News of the Gospel to all creation and exhibit the supernatural signs of salvation, healing and restoration both physically and spiritually. (Scripture reference: Mark 16:15-18)
